advice processes

Process

We have designed compliant, robust, and repeatable initial and ongoing advice processes.

Initial Process

We have designed this process to give you (and us) a framework for making an educated and informed decision about working together. While it allows us to understand exactly who you are and what you want to achieve, it will also give you a feel for the way in which South Charlotte Wealth Management works.

  • Step 1 – Initial Phone Call

Initial discussions are always at our expense. You will be provided with our Initial and Ongoing Service Overview Document at the point of your enquiry. We will then arrange a 30-minute phone call with an adviser to give us both a chance to see if your unique personal and financial situation matches our expertise.

During the call you will be clearly informed of our process and costs involved should you wish to proceed with our services as outlined in the document provided.

If you are comfortable with our advice process and associated costs, we will issue you a Compliance and Fact Find pack and arrange a face to face meeting with your adviser.

If we aren’t a fit for each other we will gladly introduce you to a company that is better suited for your needs.

  • Step 2 – First Office Meeting

The goal of this meeting is to clearly establish your circumstances, objectives, existing plans, attitude and understanding of risks, and give you the opportunity to meet your adviser in person.

We will walk you through the Service & Fee Agreement again to ensure you fully understand our initial and ongoing charging structure, agree the scope of the work to be completed and the associated cost.

While we encourage all potential clients to take time to consider if they would like to engage with us, if you are happy to proceed with our services, we will ask you to sign the Service & Fee Agreement. At this point the minimum charge for the agreed area of work becomes binding.

  • Step 3 – Research & Recommendation

We will apply our years of experience, hours of training and development, and application of industry expertise and knowledge, to your circumstances and objectives to finalise your personal recommendation for the agreed scope of work. We will always present this to you in writing prior to Step 4.

  • Step 4 – Second Office Meeting

We will arrange another meeting with your adviser to discuss the recommendation and any queries you may have on it. Our goal is to explain, in plain English, the steps you need to take to achieve your objectives as detailed in the recommendation report. At the end of this meeting, we will ask you if you would like to begin working with us.

If you choose to go ahead with the recommendation, we will complete any further steps to fully onboard you as a client and implement your personal financial plan. The agreed Initial Fee will be replaced by the Implementation Fee as agreed at your first office meeting in Step 2.

If you choose not to proceed with our recommendation at any point from Step 3 onwards you will be liable for the agreed Initial Fee. While we would welcome the opportunity to work with you, we will never hard‐sell or pressure you to say yes to our recommendations.

Ongoing Services

For our retirement and investment clients we offer two levels of ongoing service, “Premier” & “Core”. The details of these will be provided in the Initial & Ongoing Services Document you will receive at Step 1 of your enquiry.
